Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information SceneIt (“SceneIt”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the SceneIt website at sceneit.ie and the SceneIt mobile apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have. SceneIt is operated from Ireland and we process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information we collect

Account information

• Your email address (used to sign in and to verify your account).
• Your unique display name.
• An optional profile picture you choose to upload.
• A password, which is stored only in a securely hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password in plain text.

Content you capture

• The photos and short video clips you record into a party's shared vault. This content is private to the members of that party and is not visible to anyone until the party's host releases it.

Social and messaging

• Your friend connections, friend requests, and party memberships.
• Direct messages and group chat messages you send to other users within the app.

Payments

• Records of the credit packs you purchase and your credit balance. Payments on the website are processed by Stripe, and in-app purchases are processed by Apple and Google. We do not receive or store your full card or payment details.

Notifications and device data

• If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token for your browser or device so we can send you alerts (for example, when a party is released or you receive a message). You can turn this off at any time.

How we use your information

• To create and operate your account and the parties you host or join.
• To store and display shared party content to the right people at the right time.
• To deliver friend requests, messages, and notifications.
• To process credit purchases and maintain your credit balance.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
• To send essential service emails (for example, account verification and party releases).

Service providers

We share data only with the processors that make SceneIt work, and only to the extent needed to provide the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Cloudflare R2 — storage of uploaded photos.
• Mux — storage and streaming of uploaded video clips.
• Stripe — payment processing on the website.
• Apple & Google — payment processing for in-app purchases.
• RevenueCat — managing in-app purchase entitlements.
• Resend — sending transactional emails.
• Vercel — website and API hosting.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Data retention

• We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the account settings, which removes your profile.
• Shared party content remains in storage until every member of that party has removed it from their view, after which it is permanently deleted.
• Expired invites and removed media are cleared by automated cleanup processes.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can update your profile and delete your account directly in the app, or contact us using the details below to exercise any of these rights.

Children

SceneIt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
